Position: Junior Software Engineer

Location: NYC Office - Friday WFH

Our client is seeking a talented Junior Software Developer to join their growing team. In this role, you will take ownership of critical features that deliver real value to healthcare facilities across the country. You’ll be instrumental in helping Healthcare Facilities Managers (HFMs) automate compliance tasks through smart, connected devices—solving a real, urgent problem with a solution customers already love. This is a unique opportunity to develop full-stack features with direct visibility from end users and executive leadership, while growing your skills in a high-impact, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Own the design and development of scalable, full-stack features across our web platform.
• Contribute to an Agile/Scrum team focused on rapid delivery and iterative improvement.
• Build and expand features for our smart device platform used in 2,000+ facilities.
• Optimize PostgreSQL database performance and reliability.
• Develop RESTful APIs for seamless interaction with our IoT device infrastructure.
• Collaborate directly with users and stakeholders to gather feedback and drive innovation.
• Identify opportunities to refactor and improve application architecture for scalability.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and maintainable codebase.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Django and relational databases (especially PostgreSQL).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong ability to self-manage, learn independently, and proactively solve problems.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with front-end frameworks such as Vue.js.
• Familiarity with IoT technologies and device integration.
• Background in compliance or facilities management software.
• Understanding of web services and RESTful API development.
