Job summary

NexTech Professional Services in Monterrey, CA is seeking a Junior Software Developer to code, test, and implement configuration changes and assist in designing software applications to meet functional and technical requirements.

You will work with full stack Java, .NET, SQL/MySQL, and web technologies, participating in DevOps practices with GitLab and Agile methodologies, while contributing to documentation and maintenance efforts. US citizenship and potential security clearance are noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in application development/sustainment.
• 1+ year of progressive experience in application development/sustainment.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies, GitLab, and Agile methodologies.
• Security+CE Certification is required.
• US Citizen status and willingness to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology.
• Assess customer needs and recommend improved configuration and implementation of applications.
• Learn and maintain existing software programs; develop detailed programming logic and coding changes.
• Analyze program performance and address deficiencies with user consultation.
• Write and maintain documentation for software projects.
• Develop and implement test plans for new projects and maintenance of existing projects.
• Maintain confidentiality of information; document problems and resolutions.
• Adapt to evolving technologies and processes.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Position Overview:

The Junior Software Developer is responsible for coding, testing, and implementing configuration changes and assisting in the design of software applications to meet both functional and technical requirements of the operations.

Job Duties:

Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology.

Conduct assessment of customer needs and recommendations for improved configuration and implementation of improved applications.

Learning and maintaining existing software programs; make approved changes by developing detailed programming logic and coding changes.

Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users.

Write and maintain documentation for software projects.

Develop and implement test plans for new projects, and maintenance of existing projects.

Maintain confidentiality regarding the information processed, stored, or accessed.

Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.

Adapt to evolving technologies and processes.

Other tasks and activities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Educational requirements include a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent experience in application development/sustainment.

Experience requirements include 1+ years of progressive experience in Application Development/Sustainment.

Experience with DevOps Methodologies, GitLab, and Agile Methodologies.
