Job Summary:
The Software Developer designs, develops, and maintains WealthCounsel software applications along with other staff members. This role performs coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. The Software Developer contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
As a Junior Software Developer you’ll be responsible for:
- Developing, enhancing, and maintaining web-based applications
- Working closely with a variety of team members to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
- Resolving problems with software and responding to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
- Proactively learning and utilizing new technologies, concepts and procedures as appropriate to project requirements
- Providing estimates for development tasks
- Developing source code and unit tests according to technical designs
- Participating in code reviews
- Contributing to technical documentation
- Participating in the Problem Management process and fixing issues
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Strong skills in engineering/programming, analytical/diagnostic/troubleshooting, web technology, and programming methodology
- Solid understanding of systems and subsystems
- Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable software, computer languages, and code to perform the responsibilities of the role
- Demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages
Required Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- 2-3 years of experience with Java
- 1+ year of experience with Java Script application development
- Knowledge of internet client/server technologies
- Experience with AWS services and agile development is a plus!
Work Environment and Company Benefits:
This is a virtual, full-time position. You will work remotely from your home office, and occasional travel may be required for meetings, trade shows and training.

Salary:
The salary range listed reflects the total on target earnings for this position (base salary plus bonus).
