Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Junior SOC Monitoring Analyst (2nd Shift) for a major aerospace, defense, and technology organization. You will monitor, investigate, and respond to security events within a large enterprise, gaining hands-on experience in a Security Operations Center.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, a related bachelor's degree, and security certifications; you will work on a hybrid schedule with onsite days and a 36-month contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Science, or a related field is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a detailed technical environment.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, network topology, and network security.
• Understanding of Windows and/or UNIX operating systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate security alerts from IDS/IPS, firewalls, proxies, servers, endpoints, and network devices.
• Analyze security events within a SIEM environment and determine appropriate response actions.
• Escalate incidents in accordance with established incident response procedures.
• Review logs and security data to identify suspicious activity and emerging threats.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to support enterprise security initiatives.
• Document investigations, findings, and response activities.
• Assist with ongoing improvements to security operations processes and procedures.
