Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Cyber Threat Monitoring Analyst (Second Shift) to join its Security Operations Center in Farmington. You will monitor alerts, investigate activity, and support incident response across a large enterprise.

Ideal candidates have a security-focused background, a degree in a related field, and familiarity with SIEMs, endpoints, and network fundamentals. This role offers a hybrid schedule and long-term contract opportunities within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Science, or related field
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Strong interest in Security Operations and Cyber Defense
• Networking concepts including TCP/IP, topology, and security fundamentals
• Familiarity with Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems
• Ability to analyze technical information and work in detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to troubleshoot independently and in a team

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from enterprise platforms
• Investigate suspicious network and endpoint activity
• Review events from firewalls, IDS, servers, endpoints, proxies, and other security technologies
• Follow incident response and escalation procedures based on risk
• Document investigations, findings, and actions
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and stakeholders to resolve incidents
• Analyze data from monitoring platforms to identify threats
• Contribute to process improvement and SOC initiatives
• Participate in a 24/7 operational environment with second-shift coverage
