What You Will Do:
- Evaluate, test, recommend, develop, coordinate, monitor, and maintain information systems (IS) and cybersecurity policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure IS and cybersecurity architecture/designs, plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures align with IS standards and overall cybersecurity framework.
- Develop techniques and procedures for conducting IS and cybersecurity risk assessments and compliance audits, evaluating hardware, firmware, and software for security impacts, and investigating security incidents.
- Implement IS and cybersecurity policies and take measures against intrusion, fraud, attacks, or leaks.
- Stay informed of current events in the security industry, including the latest exploits, threats, and preventative measures.
- Research new and evolving threats and vulnerabilities and assess their impact on the monitored environment.
- Analyze security event data from sensors (IDS, SIEM, etc.).
- Recognize potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts through detailed review and analysis of event data.
- Monitor security sensors for status, coverage, and health.
- Identify suspicious or malicious activities or codes.
- Conduct proactive investigation, containment, and mitigation of security incidents.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and assessments before escalating issues to technical staff.
What You Will Bring:
- Experience working on projects of moderate scope requiring resourcefulness, self-initiative, and independent judgment.
- Experience identifying security risks, determining causes of violations, and suggesting procedures to prevent future incidents.
- Developing functional knowledge to evaluate issues and recommend solutions.
