Job summary

Dewberry, an established professional services firm, seeks an entry-level Site/Civil Engineer to join our Gainesville, VA office. You’ll contribute to grading, roadway, and drainage design while assisting with permitting, code research, and preparation of project specs.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering required.
Previous internship experience in Site/Civil preferred.
Knowledge of floodplain delineation, storm water management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and drainage design.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency using CAD (CADD).
Desire to work in a team environment.
F.E. exam completion preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Work on all phases of civil/municipal engineering including grading design, roadway design, and drainage design.
Conduct permitting and code research; write specifications; prepare and submit permit applications.
Analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models and computations for storm water and watershed planning.
