Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Site/Civil Engineer to join our Virginia Beach, VA office. The Junior Engineer will perform civil engineering functions in support of a growing office and work with a Professional Engineer on drawings, calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 0-2 years of design experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil3D with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT is preferred.
• 0- 2years of design experience related to site development projects.
• AutoCAD required and Civil3D preferable.
• Able to work on teams on different task and meets project deadlines.
• Communicates effectively.
• Composes technical reports, permit documents, memorandums and other written communication such as email.

Responsibilities

• Civil/Site development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, sanitary sewer design, water design, and water reuse design.
• Work with a Professional Engineer in preparing all associated drawing packages, deliverables, calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
• Work on design teams in collaboration with other disciplines to achieve project goals and deadlines.
• The work is fast-paced and diverse, with use of AutoCAD, Civil3D, ICPR, VADOT, MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam.
• Position will require learning and becoming proficient in Dewberry engineering practices and standards.
