Job summary

Leidos seeks a Junior Signal Processing Engineer to design, implement, and test DSP algorithms for sensor, RF, and communications systems in mission-critical IT and national security programs. Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; coursework/projects in DSP and communications.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ for numerical computing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if required by project).
• Relevant internships, co-ops, or research experience in DSP or RF systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype digital signal processing algorithms for sensor and RF/communications systems
• Analyze real-world datasets to characterize signals, noise, and system performance
• Implement and optimize algorithms in MATLAB/Python and support translation to production code
• Validate algorithm performance through simulation, unit tests, and hardware-in-the-loop testing
• Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture, design reviews, and technical trade studies
• Document designs, assumptions, test methods, and results for internal and customer reviews
