+ POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior SEO Specialist turns keyword research into content that ranks and converts. You'll research keywords, write blogs, service pages, and location pages, publish them on client websites, and use Google Search Console to get them indexed and keep them healthy.

This is an entry-level role. You don't need to be an SEO expert. You'll report to our SEO & Ads Manager, who sets the strategy, reviews your work, and will teach you the tools and processes we use. What we need from you is the drive to learn.

We also want your ideas. If you see a better way to lay out a blog post or structure a landing page so it's easier for a visitor to use, we want to hear it.

+ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Keyword Research
  • Research keywords for blogs, service pages, and location pages using Semrush and Google Search Console
  • Identify search intent, related questions, and competitor content for each topic
  • Bring keyword and topic recommendations to the SEO Manager for approval
Content Creation
  • Write SEO content based on your keyword research: blog posts, service pages, and location pages
  • Write page metadata: title tags, meta descriptions, URL slugs, headings, and image alt text
  • Adapt your writing to each client's brand voice and audience
  • Add internal links between related pages
  • Revise drafts based on feedback from the SEO Manager and/or Account Strategist
Publishing
  • Publish content on client websites, mostly Squarespace and WordPress
  • Format pages so they're easy to read and use on desktop and mobile
  • Suggest layout, design, and user experience improvements for blogs and landing pages
Google Search Console
  • Submit new and updated pages for indexing
  • Monitor indexed pages and flag pages that drop out of the index or fail to get indexed
  • Watch for technical issues (crawl errors, page experience, broken pages) and report them to the SEO Manager
  • Support a portfolio of about 10 clients, with 10–12 pieces of content each month
  • Track your tasks and deadlines in ClickUp
+ WHAT YOU DO NOT OWN
  • SEO strategy and roadmaps (you'll contribute ideas, and the SEO Manager decides)
  • SEO audits and monthly reporting
  • Client communication. You may sit in on client calls to hear feedback firsthand, but you won't be expected to speak with or manage clients.
+ WHAT WE'LL PROVIDE
  • Mentorship, strategy, and content review from the SEO & Ads Manager
  • Training on Semrush, Google Analytics 4, Screaming Frog, and ClickUp (as well as web platforms if needed)
  • Access to client websites and Search Console accounts
  • Client background, brand guidelines, and campaign themes
+ REQUIREMENTS
  • 1—2 years of digital marketing experience. No SEO background is required if you're a strong writer who learns quickly.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to take on different brand tones and styles
  • Self-directed learner who researches answers independently and speaks up when blocked
  • An eye for user experience: you notice when a page is confusing, cluttered, or hard to navigate
  • Comfortable taking feedback and revising your work
  • Strong attention to detail and organization across multiple clients and deadlines
  • Highly competent in Google Docs and Google Sheets
  • Reliable internet and your own computer
Preferred
  • Experience adding or editing content in Squarespace and/or WordPress
  • Familiarity with Google Search Console
  • Exposure to Semrush, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, or ClickUp
  • Writing samples in blogging, copywriting, journalism, or marketing
