Job summary

Gunnison Consulting Group is seeking a cybersecurity professional for a short-term, six-month engagement in Washington, DC. The position is on-site five days per week and contingent upon a future opening. Salary ranges from $85,000 to $105,000 per year.

Active Secret Clearance is required. Responsibilities include executing operational cybersecurity functions, triaging and analyzing security alerts, supporting continuous monitoring, coordinating incident response actions, and identifying

*This position is contingent upon a future opening with Gunnison.

*This will be a short-term 6-month position.

Salary: $85,000 - $105,000/year

Work Location: On-site 5 days per week, Washington, DC.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in in SOC operations and incident response.
• Hands-on experience analyzing security alerts and supporting threat detection workflows.
• Strong knowledge of the NIST RMF and evaluating system configurations.
• Security+, CySA+, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Incident Response certification (e.g., GCIH) or Cloud Security certification.
• Specialized training in digital forensics or incident response.

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
