Job summary

Space and Earth Science Data Analysis seeks a junior Scientific Software Developer to support the SPASE Metadata Working Team (SMWT) website. You will help develop and maintain SPASE metadata understanding, contribute to backend software tasks, and assist with version control administration and metadata management.

This full-time, on-site role at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD requires a Bachelor's degree and Python proficiency, teamwork, and the ability to obtain NASA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or physical sciences (or equivalent degree/diploma).
• Minimum of two years’ demonstrated experience and proficiency in Python programming.
• Motivated individual with a keen sense of problem solving and analysis.
• Ability to work with little supervision and as part of a team.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (LPR) required, with US residency for the past 3 consecutive years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation through NASA.

Responsibilities

• Provide development and maintenance support for the SPASE Metadata Working Team (SMWT) website.
• Perform backend software development tasks for the SPASE group.
• Manage version control repositories and maintenance.
• Provide metadata management support.
• Engage in configuration services and tooling for SPASE-related processes.
