LJB Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Roadway Engineer in Raleigh or Charlotte, North Carolina. The role focuses on roadway design tasks from preliminary to final design, using CAD tools to produce plans and documents for transportation projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with about 1+ years of roadway design experience and has worked with Municipal or State DOTs. EIT certification is preferred, and MicroStation/OpenRoads experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 1+ years of roadway design experience.
• Experience working with Municipal or State DOTs.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway engineering design tasks for transportation projects from preliminary to final design.
• Provide engineering design services for traditional design‑bid‑build projects and design‑build transportation projects.
• Utilize CAD software to prepare detailed engineering drawings and plans for roadway projects.
• Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including specifications and cost estimates, to facilitate the implementation of roadway projects.
• Work with senior engineers and other team members to ensure effective communication, coordination, and progress of roadway projects.
• Stay updated on relevant transportation engineering codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
