Job summary

KBR is seeking a Junior Reverse Engineer to join our Cyberwarfare team. You will dissect and analyze hardware, firmware, software, and network protocols, identify vulnerabilities, and build proof-of-concept exploits to demonstrate impacts.

Required are a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 0–4 years in reverse engineering or security; proficiency in assembly or C/C++, and ability to obtain a government security clearance. The role offers growth within a leading defense tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 0-4 years of demonstrated reverse engineering or security experience.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and software development principles.
• Proficiency in assembly language or C/C++.
• Experience with debugging tools and techniques.
• Experience with network protocols and security concepts.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-scope reverse engineering of hardware, firmware, software, and network protocols.
• Analyze system components, architectures, and interactions to gain in-depth knowledge of functionality.
• Identify security vulnerabilities, potential attack vectors, and areas for improvement.
• Develop custom tools and scripts to automate reverse engineering workflows.
• Research and stay current on threats, vulnerabilities, and reverse engineering techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop security solutions.
• Document findings, prepare reports, and present results to stakeholders.
