Job summary

Implicit Conversions is seeking a Junior Generalist Engineer to design, build, and refine emulators, enabling classic games to run on modern hardware. You will write supportive tools and reverse‑engineer bespoke engines to add modern enhancements.

Collaboration with engineers, producers, and QA will ensure performance, compatibility, and a great player experience. You will contribute across multiple platforms, improve workflows, and help preserve gaming history while working in a remote team

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of generalist engineering experience.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Lua.
• Excellent C/C++ skills and understanding of algorithms.
• Clear communicator able to work in a remote team.
• Genuine passion for retro games and emulation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and expanding emulators and tools.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts.
• Optimize games for target platforms and performance.
• Debug compatibility issues across platforms.
• Reverse engineer games to patch bugs and add modern enhancements.
