Job summary

Clayton is seeking an Interior Designer I to assist in designing on-trend, affordable housing. You will work with architects, engineers, vendors and facilities nationwide to develop floor plans, interior selections, décor packages and design solutions that improve safety and aesthetics.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Interior Design or related field, 0–2 years of experience, and proficiency with CAD. Travel up to 25% may be needed as projects span multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in interior design or related field.
• 0–2 years of interior design experience with knowledge of building codes.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers, architects and engineers to support residential design nationwide.
• Develop interior concepts that meet safety and aesthetic standards.
• Select finishes, colors, furnishings and decorative elements.
• Design architectural details and read blueprints and floor plans.
• Prepare drawings and project plans using CAD and other tools.
• Assist with budgeting, cost estimation and vendor coordination.
• Research trends and products to support design recommendations.
• Maintain partnerships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
