  • Set up and manage computing infrastructure to support analysis, including data integration and database maintenance.
  • Document code, processes, and workflows to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.
  • Test and debug software applications to ensure functionality aligns with user needs.

NC State University is hiring a Junior Research Software Engineer, LAS. The role focuses on developing innovative technology solutions to support advanced analytical work within the Laboratory for Analytic Sciences, involving applied research, technical problem-solving, and collaboration with government, industry, and academic partners to transform emerging ideas into practical capabilities.

  • Experience with machine learning models including object detection, image classification, and large language models.
  • Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in engineering or computer science with one year relevant experience or a bachelor's degree with two years relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required, preference given to candidates with full-scope polygraph; familiarity with Docker, AWS, and classified environments preferred.
  • Compensation range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually.
  • Position supports the Laboratory for Analytic Sciences department focused on innovative analytic solutions within the U.S. Intelligence Community.
