Job summary

University of Cincinnati is seeking a Junior Research Associate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering to plan, perform, evaluate, and coordinate research on electrochemical biosensors based on aptamers. Work will involve collaboration with several commercial partners in the diagnostic devices industry.

The position is onsite in the Novel Devices Lab within Biomedical Engineering, focusing on developing continuous molecular monitoring devices for chronic disease analytes beyond glucose.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Four years of relevant work experience and/or related training can substitute the education requirement.
• Significant bench chemistry experience.
• Experience in electrochemistry.
• Experience in microfabrication.

• Fabricate, test, and analyze data related to electrochemical aptamer sensors.
• Perform aptamer SELEX processes (the method used to find new aptamers).

Job Overview

Plan, perform, evaluate, and coordinate research on electrochemical biosensors. The biosensors are based on electrochemical aptamers. The biosensors are being developed to create continuous molecular monitoring devices similar to wearable glucose monitors but for measuring other chronic disease analytes beyond glucose. While the work is performed at the Univ. of Cincinnati, it involves collaboration including several commercial partners in the diagnostic devices industry.

This position will be in the Novel Devices Lab in the department of Biomedical Engineering.
