Job summary

ALTEN Mexico is seeking a Body Design and Release Engineer to design, develop, and release structural BIW components for removable tops. You will collaborate across design offices, vehicle development teams, and suppliers to ensure feasible, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

The role involves providing feasibility input from PDO concepts, supporting DFMEA/DVP&R, weight and cost reductions, and releasing geometry with NX/Teamcenter. Strong CAD and GD&T knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and releasing BIW components for vehicle tops.
• Proficient with NX, Catia V5 and Teamcenter in a production release environment.
• Knowledge of high-strength steels and aluminum forming, weld parameters, and GD&T.
• Experience with DFMEA and DVPR (DVPR spelling).
• BOM management experience.
• Knowledge of DFSS or Green/Black Belt is a plus.
• CFD knowledge.
• MS Office proficiency.
• CATIA V5 knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate packaging with product design, vehicle development, other Exterior/Body Engineering teams and suppliers to design, develop and release components/systems.
• Provide feasibility input from PDO concepts, sketches, and clay models.
• Drive quality improvements, weight and cost reductions, and efficiency initiatives; communicate status to management.
• Develop functional objectives and build objectives; manage DFMEA/DVP&R and supplier to meet requirements.
• Authorize release of completed geometry using NX/Teamcenter CAD tools.
