Job summary

Kelar Pacific, LLC is seeking a Junior Reality Capture and Point Layout Technician in the San Diego, CA area. The entry-level role focuses on BIM, 3D LiDAR, and point layout with a two-week technical training program followed by a part-time hourly position.

Candidate will gain hands-on experience on on-site projects, work with senior team members, and engage with clients while learning to operate scanning gear and layout workflows.

Qualifications

• Prior exposure to construction projects preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
• Ability to travel up to 80% based on project requirements.
• Ability to lift and move scanning gear up to 40 pounds.
• Willingness to learn and grow in Reality Capture and BIM workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preliminary activities before on-site visits, including reviewing existing documentation.
• Generate 3D laser scan data or Layout field data by total station.
• Learn and support generation of 3D laser scan data in the field while working with senior team members and clients.
• Help manage logistics for transporting scanning equipment and on-site readiness.
• Participate in ongoing learning to improve Reality Capture and Point Layout skills.
• Follow established procedures under guidance of senior team members.
