Job description

We are seeking a high-energy, technically minded Junior Quality Engineer to join our quality team. This is an exceptional entry-level career pathway designed for an early-career professional looking to build a long-term career in a fast-paced, high-precision contract manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will take a deeply hands‑on approach from day one, learning our Quality Management Systems (QMS) from the ground up. You will support product inspections, analyze technical data, manage ERP/Epicor specifications, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external client accounts (primarily within the aerospace sector). If you have an engineering mindset, a positive attitude, and a belief that no operational task is too small to deserve excellence, this is the perfect launchpad for your career.

Ideal Candidate Profile & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Experience Level: 0 to 2 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or internship capacity. Experience within a job shop or contract manufacturing environment is a major plus.
  • Mindset: A strong technical/engineering mindset paired with a desire to learn rapidly in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Work Ethic: A resilient, proactive attitude—someone who thrives in a highly collaborative, hands‑on manufacturing environment and takes pride in precise documentation.
  • Tech‑Savvy: Highly comfortable picking up new software, ERP systems (Epicor), and technical tools quickly.
  • Client‑Facing Skills: Professional, clear, and articulate communication style when collaborating with internal teams and external customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Core Technical & Quality Duties
  • Product Inspections & Testing: Conduct thorough, hands‑on physical inspections and testing to ensure contract manufactured products, components, and materials conform to strict client specifications.
  • Specification & Data Management: Learn to manage and enter engineering specifications and Change Orders (CO) within our Epicor system to support client accounts.
  • Data Analysis: Apply statistical analysis tools to identify quality trends and uncover process optimization opportunities on the production floor.
  • Root‑Cause & CAPA Support: Assist engineering teams with investigations into quality non‑conformances, utilizing root‑cause analysis and 8D problem‑solving methodologies.
  • QMS Compliance: Help maintain quality documentation, procedures, and forms to ensure alignment with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Equipment & Audits: Assist with the calibration of testing equipment and participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
Strategic Customer & Team Collaboration
  • Customer‑Centric Documentation: Develop clear, tailored document control instructions for key customer accounts to enhance compliance and satisfaction.
  • Cross‑Functional Communication: Act as a proactive liaison between project managers, production teams, and international business units to streamline quality workflows.
  • Workflow Optimization: Utilize production schedule and machine load insights to prioritize tasks, enabling ahead‑of‑schedule preparation of quality documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in team meetings, document action items, and actively suggest ways to streamline reporting and analysis processes.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
  • Design & Inspection: Familiarity with CAD software and quality inspection tools. Strong foundational skills in blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel (for data analysis) and PowerPoint (for presenting quality findings).
  • Regulatory Awareness: Exposure to or a strong desire to learn industry standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and cGMP.

Physical & Safety Commitment: Ability to perform physical tasks associated with quality audits, including the ability to move or transport inspection materials weighing up to 25 lbs. Strict adherence to safety protocols and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated manufacturing areas.
