Junior Python Programmer/ Data Scientist (On-Call)

ICF seeks a Junior Python Programmer/Data Scientist to support several models within our Regulatory, Policy, and Economics practice, with a focus on environmental policy and programs. As a Junior Programmer/Data Scientist, you will assist in documenting and reviewing the development of complex models used to estimate the costs, benefits, and impacts of both regulatory and non-regulatory programs, as well as national-scale fate and transport modeling. You will work closely with our Model Architects to code, document, test, optimize, and review each model. For this role, we are looking for a collaborative candidate with programming skills in multiple languages and formal training in best practices for programming.

This on-call position is available nationwide (remote) and is available immediately.

What you will be doing

Support the design, development, and implementation of system models.

Work with model architects to test, document, and add new functionality to existing modelling efforts.

Create and maintain design and code standards and ensure accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in data science, computer science or similar education

Highly proficient in Python development

Experience working in an object-oriented program environment

Demonstrated collaborative team experience

Experience with relational and non-relational database platforms, such as SQL (e.g., Oracle, Postgres, MySQL) and working with large data bases and data flows.

Preferred Qualifications

GIS experience

Experience with software version control systems (e.g., bitbucket).

Experience working in cloud-based environments, including experience with deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is :

$81,094.00 - $137,860.00Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
