Job summary

Plata Card is seeking a Python-focused engineer for the Risks Scoring team. You will implement scoring features, policy rules, and strategies enabling real-time decisions across Plata products.

The role involves maintaining a high-load Python service, validating changes with production traffic, and ensuring robust test coverage in a fast-paced, international environment. You will collaborate with multiple teams, build reliable data contracts, and participate in incident response to keep scoring

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Python experience (internship, projects or work).
• Solid Python fundamentals: OOP, dataclasses, standard library.
• Familiar with type hints and static typing.
• Basic experience with pydantic: models and data validation.
• Docker and containerization understanding.
• Practical testing experience with pytest: unit & integration tests.
• Comfortable with Git and working in a team MR flow.
• Basic SQL and ability to read others’ code.
• Proactivity: raising blockers early, asking questions, following conventions.
• B1+ English level for international team communication.

Responsibilities

• Implement scoring features and policy rules for real-time decisions in production.
• Maintain and develop a high-load Python service and its data contracts.
• Ensure high-quality implementation with comprehensive tests.
• Validate changes against production traffic before going live.
• Respond quickly to incidents by tracing logs and restoring correct behavior.
