Job summary

Holtec International in Camden, NJ seeks a Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) Engineer I to support probabilistic safety assessment methodologies for the SMR-300 program. You will contribute to risk-informed design, safety analyses, and regulatory compliance by developing PSA models and TH evaluations.

Qualifications

  • B.S degree in nuclear or mechanical engineering or closely related field.
  • Familiarity with LWR thermal-hydraulic behavior.
  • Familiarity with probabilistic risk assessment methods for LWRs.
  • Exposure to PRA/thermal-hydraulic analysis tools.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills; able to work in team.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of PRA modules and associated TH analyses under supervision.
  • Develop Level 1 and Level 2 PRA models for internal/external events.
  • Model thermal-hydraulic responses for severe accidents inform PRA.
  • Develop event and fault trees to estimate CDF and LRF.
  • Maintain PSA models as SMR-300 design evolves.
  • Communicate PSA insights to design teams and ensure deliverable quality.
