Job summary

Coweta County is seeking an intermediate skilled worker to support Tax Appraisers II and III in the appraisal process in Newnan, GA. You will perform deed research, maintain records, and assist the public while ensuring accuracy in data entry and reporting.

Required is a high school diploma or GED with moderate appraisal experience; the position is non-exempt with pathway to certification. Applicants should demonstrate strong service orientation and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Moderate experience in real or personal property appraisal.

Responsibilities

• Assists in performing real and personal property appraisals.
• Field inspects new construction, renovations, additions, and demolitions.
• Interprets and explains public assessment procedures to the public.
• Prepares reports; maintains files and records.
• Enters data into database for real and personal property (ownership, changes, etc.).
• Catalogs and indexes all real and personal property; updates records.
• Supports Board of Assessor's with scheduling, appeals, exemptions, homestead, refunds.
• Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent service.
