Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a Jr. Project Manager to support large-scale data center and heavy industrial construction projects. This role involves assisting in planning, scheduling, tracking expenses, and coordinating with clients and subcontractors to keep projects on time and within budget.

You will work both independently and with a team, read drawings and specs, prepare reports, and participate in meetings to resolve design issues and drive project success.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of direct experience in project management or construction
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong computer skills and quick to learn new systems
• Commitment to continuous improvement of communication, organization and leadership skills
• Effective scheduling and delegation to accomplish tasks on time
• Tactful conflict resolution and problem solving abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Project Management, Construction Management, Business, Engineering etc.), or combination of experience and/or education
• Good understanding of reading drawings and specifications
• Familiar with computer-based estimating and knowledge of billing and collections

Responsibilities

• Assist in estimating project scope and costs
• Manage project expectations and execution of subcontractors
• Maintaining project documentation
• Tracking project expenses and budget
• Preparing reports
• Communicate with clients and subcontractors
• Attend and participate in project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings
• Research and preparation of change requests to resolve design issues for approval
• Research and recommend solutions to design document problems
• Monitor field/contract work to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, specs and codes
• Assist with submittal and RFI processes
• Assist in early completion and tracking of billing
