Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Junior Project Manager for a 12+ months contract in Jersey City, NJ with a hybrid work model. The role focuses on coordinating delivery across Product, Engineering, QA, and architecture teams, while maintaining project plans, milestones, risks, and dependencies.

You will manage day-to-day planning, execution, and delivery, ensure SDLC and governance adherence, and communicate risks and status to stakeholders. Banking/Financial Industry familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, Project Manager, Scrum Master, or similar role.
  • Experience managing or supporting Agile software development projects in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, release management, and change management processes.
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery tools.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
  • Coordinate delivery activities across Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, and business teams.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address delivery risks, blockers, and schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate release planning, testing activities, implementation readiness, and deployment support.
  • Provide regular project status updates and communicate risks, issues, and dependencies to stakeholders.
  • Ensure project activities follow established SDLC, governance, change management, and organizational delivery standards.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and drive timely follow-up to maintain delivery commitments.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Junior Project Manager. This is a 12+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid).

Pay Range: $55/hr - $60/hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Project Management
  • Own day-to-day planning, execution, and delivery of assigned technology projects or workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
  • Coordinate delivery activities across Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, and business teams.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address delivery risks, blockers, and schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate release planning, testing activities, implementation readiness, and deployment support.
  • Provide regular project status updates and communicate risks, issues, and dependencies to stakeholders.
  • Ensure project activities follow established SDLC, governance, change management, and organizational delivery standards.

  • Technical Leadership
  • Work closely with engineering leads and architects to understand solutions, dependencies, and implementation plans.
  • Participate in technical planning, backlog grooming, and solution discussions.
  • Review project estimates, schedules, and delivery plans to identify risks and dependencies.
  • Understand APIs, product development practices, integrations, databases, and enterprise application architecture concepts.
  • Identify technical risks early and coordinate with appropriate teams to drive resolution.
  • Facilitate clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and integration activities required for successful delivery.
  • Success Measures
  • Consistent delivery of assigned sprint, project, and workstream commitments.
  • Accurate tracking and reporting of project status, risks, dependencies, and blockers.
  • Effective coordination across business, product, engineering, QA, and architecture teams.
  • Well-maintained Jira boards, project documentation, and delivery artifacts.
  • Timely escalation and follow-up on project issues and impediments.
  • Positive stakeholder feedback and strong team collaboration.
  • Adherence to Agile, SDLC, governance, and change management processes.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, Project Manager, Scrum Master, or similar role.
  • Experience managing or supporting Agile software development projects in enterprise environments.
  • Experience managing project schedules, risks, dependencies, follow-Client, and stakeholder communications.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, release management, and change management processes.
  • Prior experience within a financial institution is preferred, particularly in Payments, Risk, Compliance, Regulatory, or Enterprise Technology domains.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed and cross-functional technology teams.
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery tools.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and application delivery processes.
  • Familiarity with programming concepts, APIs, databases, integrations, and distributed application environments.
  • Understanding of QA processes, test management, deployment coordination, and release management practices.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps concepts, and modern delivery practices.
  • Ability to understand technical discussions and effectively coordinate with engineering teams.
