Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking an engineer to manage projects from development through start-up, under supervision. You will support cost estimates, schedules, DSPs, and coordination with external consultants to deliver cost-effective studies.

The role involves learning MOC/PSI processes, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and collaborating with Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams to drive safe, reliable execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical preferred).
• Zero (0) years or more of industry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Applies project management across all phases: development, justification, design, construction, and start-up under supervision.
• Supports cost estimates, schedules, and DSP preparation.
• Participates in MOC, PSI, and mechanical integrity reviews and learns requirements.
• Coordinates with external engineering consultants to complete projects and studies cost-effectively.
• Develops scope, cost estimates, and schedules for capital and expense projects; prepares DSPs for leadership.
• Collaborates with Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams to support planning and execution.
• Observes HAZOP reviews and incident investigations; learns engineering codes and specs for safety/environmental compliance.
