Job summary

IOC Construction is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support our project management team in the Chicagoland area. The role focuses on coordinating technical activities, maintaining clear communication between field and office, and helping ensure projects run smoothly and on schedule.

You will work with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors, review submittals, track costs, and assist with monthly billing while ensuring compliance with codes and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in a project engineering role within construction.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and budgeting for construction projects
• Review and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
• Assist in the procurement of materials and coordination with subcontractors and vendors
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to plans and specifications
• Track project costs and assist with monthly billing and reporting
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations
• Collaborate with superintendents, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders
