Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Project Controls Specialist in the Houston/Austin area to support project controls, cost control, scheduling, and reporting. The role involves data input, log maintenance, and creation of WBS for complex projects.

You will assist with cash flow development, earned value, and progress tracking across multiple small projects, ensuring compliance with plans and field audits for accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Primavera P6 is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support project controls and reporting, including project change management, cost control, progress measurement, schedule development and schedule control.
• Input data, maintain logs, and run reports in Primavera P6 or other tools.
• Assist with creating Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and scheduling reports.
• Develop and maintain cash flows, forecasts and earned value reporting on small projects.
• Assist with reviewing Purchase Orders/Subcontracts and ensure proper coding.
• Assist with field audits to validate reporting accuracy and processes.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
