Job Summary:

Bechtel is a global leader in engineering and construction, with a long history of delivering successful projects. The Project Controls Engineer will coordinate project reporting, assist in cost control, and support schedule development and monitoring to ensure project success. This role requires a detail-oriented individual to manage project risks and contribute to the overall efficiency of the project team.

Responsibilities:

Support cost estimating, analysis, control activities, and schedule development, maintenance, reporting, and monitoring activities, as directed.
Collect and verify scope definition documentation, drawings, and other relevant data.
Perform routine quantity takeoffs from engineering and construction drawings.
Tabulate quantity data for comparisons and reconciliations.
Prepare and present cost and schedule information at meetings.
Maintain and update the project risk register, facilitate risk workshops, and ensure data quality and timeliness.
Operate and oversee use of risk management software tools like Active Risk Manager (ARM).
Assist in preparing risk analysis reports, metrics, and presentations.
Update project records and support data archival activities.
Assist in preparing cost/schedule data for proposals or contracts.
Gather and verify data on schedule, workforce, and quantities to monitor project progress.

Qualifications:

Required:

Less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience for university hires.
1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience for other candidates.
Proficiency with PC operating systems and basic software applications.
Knowledge of engineering and construction management practices.
Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred:

Experience with Ecosys, DSCS, and/or Aconex.
Intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes.
Familiarity with the Cheniere program and related systems.
