Aether Aerospace is seeking a Junior Program Protection Security Analyst to support our government customer at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The role focuses on personnel, physical, industrial, and information security with adherence to DoD and DoD regulations.

The candidate will implement security processes, interact with management and government customers, and help maintain SOPs, SCGs, and security education programs across programs requiring classified access.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in PERSEC/INFOSEC/Industrial Security/SAP Security/Contractor Program Security.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.
  • Strong writing ability and competence in SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience supporting NAVAIR/NAWCAD environments is preferred.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor; ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary POC for safeguarding, transmitting, and destroying classified materials.
  • Ensure that classified information is properly secured and access is limited to cleared personnel with a need-to-know.
  • Review Navy and DoD regulations and update local SOPs.
  • Support and execute security education and awareness programs for personnel.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and distribution of Security Classification Guides (SCGs).
  • Interpret and apply DD-254s to ensure security requirements are met on contracts.
  • Familiarity with OPSEC and DoD guidelines on CUI safeguarding and marking.
  • Utilize DISS to verify clearances and process visit requests.
  • Enforce security procedures for visitors and manage access to classified spaces.
  • Vet attendee clearance lists and manage secure rooms and conference logistics.
  • Operate ACS/IDS systems (Lenel, CCURE) and manage access rosters.
  • Maintain security task boards and lead weekly meetings.
  • Knowledgeable in Physical Security practices.

Aether Aerospace is currently seeking a Program Protection Security Analyst, Junior level, to support our government customer on NAS Patuxent River. Overview: TSA is currently seeking a Program Protection Security Analyst, Junior level, to support our government customer at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The candidate must be proficient and capable of execution of duties pertaining to personnel security, physical security, industrial security and information security. Implement security processes necessary to protect classified information, with strict adherence to NISPOM, DoDM 5200.01 Vol. 1-3, DODI 5200.02, DoDI 5200.48, and other applicable Executive Order and DoD regulations. This position will require routine interface with all levels of management and government customers.

Salary: $60,000- $70,000

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.

ROLES:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for safeguarding, transmitting, and destroying classified materials.
  • Ensure that classified information is properly secured and access to classified information is limited to appropriately cleared personnel with a need-to-know.
  • Review Navy and DoD regulations and develop/maintain/update local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support and execute the command security education and awareness program, ensuring personnel are briefed on policy changes.
  • Facilitate the reporting and initial inquiry of security violations or incidents involving the potential compromise of classified information.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and distribution of Security Classification Guides (SCGs) under command cognizance.
  • Interpret and apply DD-254s to ensure compliance when access to classified information is provided to cleared contractors. Review DD-254s and Statements of Work for security requirements on new contracts.
  • Familiarity with Operations Security (OPSEC) principles and DoD mandates regarding the safeguarding and marking of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
  • Utilize the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to verify clearances, access level, and send/receive visit requests.
  • Enforce strict security procedures for visitors requiring access to classified information or spaces.
  • Vet attendee clearance lists and process large classified meetings and conferences.
  • Serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for issuing and managing secure room, including SIPRNet, access.
  • Experience operating electronic Access Control Systems (ACS) and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) (e.g., Lenel, CCURE).
  • Control the opening, closing, and access rosters for all Labs and secure rooms.
  • Schedule and coordinate conference rooms for both unclassified and classified meetings.
  • Ensure all classified items and packages leaving the facility are correctly wrapped, marked, and documented in accordance with DoD/DoN regulations.
  • Conduct courier briefings and issue courier cards
  • Manage security tasks on Teams Planner and conduct/support weekly task meetings
  • Knowledgeable in the Security Field of Physical Security
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
Education & Years of Experience:

High School Diploma and minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience performing functional duties in at least one of the following domains: Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Industrial Security, Special Access Program (SAP) Security, or Contractor Program Security. (Note: This experience can include time spent assisting or working under the oversight of senior security personnel).

  • Minimum of 2 years of specific experience supporting NAVAIR / NAWCAD operations and environments.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Strong writing ability and demonstrated competence in SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), and Microsoft Teams.
  • Organized, self-starter who has demonstrated internal motivation, take ownership, can work well independently or with a team, and with minimal supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an effective communicator, both orally and in writing.
QUALICATIONS DESIRED:
  • Familiarity with DISS.
  • Cross-functional knowledge across PERSEC, INFOSEC, Industrial Security, and Physical Security.
  • Hands-on experience working with the BASIC II and System Authorization Access Request (SAAR) repositories to include processing and routing.
  • Possession or pursuit of CDSE Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) certifications (e.g., Security Fundamentals Professional Certification - SFPC)
