Job summary

Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. is seeking an Associate Process Controls Engineer to help maintain and improve our NGL terminal and pipeline control systems.

You will support day-to-day DCS operations, diagnose issues, and help implement new control strategies in collaboration with engineers and operations teams. The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 0-3 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in EtherNet/IP, Modbus, PLC programming, HMI, and networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 0-3 years of relevant experience in process controls.
• Knowledge of EtherNet/IP and Modbus communication.
• Experience with basic and advanced DCS, HMI graphics, and data historians.
• Experience with PLC programming and hardware configuration.
• Familiarity with local and wide area networking, security concepts, and software revisions.
• Understanding of process instrumentation and field technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting, optimization, design, configuration, and programming of process control systems essential to terminal and pipeline operations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot DCS programming, software, and hardware to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to implement control solutions and create test routines.
• Develop and maintain DCS documentation including narratives, specs, cause/effects, P&IDs, and drawings.
• Assist in spare parts definition and lifecycle management for control systems.
• Coordinate with OT staff to ensure plant network reliability and cybersecurity alignment.
