Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law with demonstrated interest or experience in probate, estate planning, or related civil practice areas.
  • Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law is beneficial for matters involving fiduciary responsibilities, beneficiaries, or estate-related employment issues.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients and stakeholders in a professional, ethical, and client-centered manner.
  • Proficiency in legal Research, including case law, statutes, and regulations, with strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Effective Negotiation skills to support settlements, mediations, and resolution of disputes among heirs, beneficiaries, and other parties.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the Florida Bar, or eligibility for prompt admission.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Comfort with legal practice technology, including case management systems, e-filing platforms, and standard office software.
  • Prior internship, clerkship, or junior-level experience in probate, trusts and estates, or civil litigation is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and correspondence; conduct legal research; review estate documents; and assist with court filings and hearings.
  • Communicate with clients, personal representatives, and other stakeholders to gather information, provide status updates, and help resolve probate-related issues.
  • Coordinate with financial institutions, prepare probate inventories and accountings, and support settlement negotiations.
  • Support senior attorneys in managing probate and estate administration matters and maintain organized case files.

Role Description

The Junior Probate Attorney will support the firm’s probate and estate administration practice, working under the guidance of senior attorneys to manage a caseload involving estate planning, probate proceedings, and related civil matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and correspondence; conducting legal research; reviewing estate documents; and assisting with court filings and hearings. The attorney will communicate with clients, personal representatives, and other stakeholders to gather information, provide status updates, and help resolve probate-related issues. Additional duties may include coordinating with financial institutions, preparing probate inventories and accountings, and supporting settlement negotiations. This is a full-time, in office role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
