Job summary

Boyd CAT is seeking a Mechanic's Helper to support experienced mechanics in maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds of Caterpillar and allied equipment. You will train under supervision and progress toward independent work.

Compensation is up to $27.45 per hour. A high school diploma or equivalent and basic mechanical experience are preferred. Overtime, weekends, and manual reading abilities are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of mechanical experience preferred.
• Ability to read repair manuals.
• Ability to use a micrometer and basic measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Lifts parts and components up to 50 pounds while assisting mechanics.
• Performs mechanical functions under supervision to repair or rebuild components.
• Operates construction machinery to move equipment in and out of shop bays.
• Learns to use test equipment and procedures to complete repairs.
• Keeps the work area clean and follows safety rules.
