Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer I to join our team.

The role focuses on cost-effective conceptual and engineering solutions to upgrade, expand, maintain, and automate overhead and underground power distribution systems for clients. You will work under a Senior Engineer and collaborate with teams across substation, distribution, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communications designs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of engineering/design projects.
• Create and modify engineering/design drawings and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct field walkdowns to obtain accurate information for designs.
• Prepare technical documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
• Assist in troubleshooting engineering issues as they arise.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Seek mentorship from senior engineers to develop professionally.
