Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking an Entry-Level Plumbing and Fire Protection Designer to join our Philadelphia team. You will assist in designing plumbing, fire protection, medical, and lab gas systems under supervision, gaining hands-on experience across project phases.

The role emphasizes growth, mentorship, and collaboration with senior designers and engineers, using industry-standard software to deliver accurate, coordinated designs on time.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering or related degree required or preferred.
• 0–3 years of experience preferred.
• Experience with CAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement designs as directed by senior designers and engineers.
• Collaborate with technical staff to design and detail new systems, ensuring accuracy, coordination, and adherence to quality assurance measures.
• Participate in on-site observations, information gathering, and interactions with clients and contractors during both the design and construction phases.
• Design plumbing, fire protection, medical, and laboratory gas systems following written and verbal directions from senior designers or engineers.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines to ensure constructability and maintainability of engineered systems.
