Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field.
• 3+ months local government planning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of planning concepts, CEQA, and zoning regulations.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and approves basic residential, commercial, and industrial development proposals under supervision.
• Assists developers and the public with planning and zoning regulations and city policies.
• Reviews site plans for compliance with state, federal, and city standards.
• Answers inquiries and provides information on planning, zoning, and permit review.
• Inspects sites for compliance and communicates deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Prepares reports summarizing development issues and staff recommendations.
• Interprets and explains city codes and coordinates with other departments.
• Supports planning commission and city council staff reports and meetings.
