Petco is looking for a Junior Pet Stylist to start a grooming career with a ten-week training program covering bathing, drying, nail trimming, and basic grooming tasks. You will gain hands-on experience with guidance from seasoned groomers and learn safety best practices while delivering caring service to pets and their families.

The role emphasizes strong communication with pet parents, a passion for animals, and a willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal related experience is preferred.
• High-school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Genuine passion for animals and grooming career.
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and grooming practices.
• Effective verbal and written communication with pet parents and team.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, perform limited grooming services including bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Ensure the wellbeing and safety of every animal in the salon at all times.
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide optimal customer service.
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area and sanitize tools and equipment.
• Schedule grooming appointments and maintain grooming records.
• Learn and adhere to Petco grooming policies and guidelines to ensure safety and quality.
