Qualifications

• 0–1 year of animal-related experience preferred, e.g., shelter volunteering or pet sitting.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required.
• Genuine passion for animals and grooming as a career.
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and grooming practices.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the grooming schedule.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform limited grooming tasks such as bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all animals in the salon.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to grooming-related inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, safe grooming area and sanitize tools according to Petco policies.
• Schedule grooming appointments and maintain grooming records.
• Learn and follow Petco grooming policies and standards.
