Petco is looking for a Junior Pet Stylist in Grooming. In a ten-week training period you will learn bathing, drying, nail trimming and brushing under seasoned groomers, building the foundation for a rewarding grooming career.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal related experience (e.g., shelter volunteering or pet care)
• High-school diploma or GED preferred
• Genuine passion for animals and pursuing a career in pet grooming
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior and grooming practices
• Capable of handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with care
• Excellent verbal and written communication with pet parents and team

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, perform limited grooming services including bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning
• Ensure the well-being and safety of every animal in the salon
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide top-notch customer service
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area; disinfect and sanitize tools and equipment
• Schedule grooming appointments and manage paperwork and records
• Learn and adhere to Petco grooming policies, standards and guidelines
