Job summary

Omitron seeks a Junior Orbital Analyst at Dahlgren, VA to monitor, analyze, and predict the behavior of space objects, supporting the 19 SDS conjunction assessment mission alongside senior analysts, engineers, and government operators.

You will develop proficiency with mission tools, contribute to daily operations, and strengthen analytical skills in a collaborative, security-focused environment, with opportunities to grow into advanced SDA tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Astrodynamics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field; or an Associate's with 2 years of relevant work experience or 4+ years of experience.
• US Citizenship required; active DoD Secret clearance and willingness to upgrade to TS/SCI.
• Experience or coursework in Space Situational Awareness, orbital analysis, or collision avoidance.
• Proficiency with Python or willingness to learn; ability to work with data processing and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Perform orbital analysis and evaluate data from sensors and ephemeris sources under supervision.
• Support the 19 SDS conjunction assessment mission; document processes and escalate edge cases.
• Develop scripts and utilities to automate data processing tasks.
• Engage in training pipelines and grow knowledge across SDA mission areas.
