  • Perform optogenetic manipulation during behavioral tasks.
  • Prepare brain histology samples and analyze with microscopy.
  • Acquire and interpret confocal imaging data.

Position Description

Junior or Assistant Specialist- Wang Lab

The Department of Psychiatry is now recruiting a Junior or Assistant Specialist. The job duties include the following:

  • Animal husbandry
  • Rodent stereotaxic surgery (virus injection, hardware implantation
  • Behavior assays (execution and scoring)
  • Calcium imaging drug behavior
  • Optogenetic manipulation during behavior
  • Brain Histology
  • Confocal imaging
Required Qualifications
  • Junior Specialist- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four year of research experience
  • Assistant Specialist- Master’s degree (or equivalent) or a bachelor's degree with three or more years of research experience.
  • Prior research experience (during and/or after college)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with at least some of the experimental approaches listed above

See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $57,700-$73,200.
