Junior Nondestructive (NDE) Examination Engineer - Sign on Bonus available for select candidates!

We are seeking a Junior Nondestructive (NDE) Examination Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities:

Curtiss-Wright EMD is looking for Nondestructive Examination Engineers to support its Quality Team in designing and manufacturing EMD’s highly engineered products. With over 70 years of experience, Curtiss Wright EMD develops solutions to complex engineering challenges. You will play a key role in implementing the quality assurance program to support design and manufacturing, ensuring product standards.

Your Challenge:
  • Drive the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Non-destructive examination procedures and testing to support the quality program.
  • Maintain internal employee certification and qualification reports for Operations and Inspection personnel.
  • Participate in NDE training for Operations and Inspection personnel.
  • Perform routine NDE oversight and guidance.
  • Review internal control processes such as certified material test reports, procedures, requirements flow down, and quality inspection plans.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Identify potential project or supplier quality issues.
  • Translate customer or regulatory requirements into organizational instructions.
  • Participate in audits (external, internal, process, supplier).
What you Bring:
  • BS in Engineering or related technical/science degree.
  • Must be a US citizen eligible for DOD security clearance.
  • Willing to obtain Level III/Examiner certifications in MT, PT, RT, UT, and VT.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently.
  • Ability to work in multiple team environments with technical input.
  • 1-5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • BS in Materials Engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASME B&PV Code, NAVSEA-250-1500-1, Tech Pub 271/278.
  • ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II or NAVSEA-250-1500-1 Inspector in NDE methods is an asset.
  • Experience training employees in manufacturing.
