Job summary

HDR is seeking a Noise Specialist 1 to conduct acoustical and vibration studies across diverse projects. You will collect field data, prepare noise reports, and collaborate with staff and regulators to ensure compliance.

The role involves working on environmental noise, architectural acoustics, and building vibration analyses. You should be comfortable using advanced instruments and software to process data, with strong writing and communication skills and the ability to work both independently

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Math, Physics or closely related field.
• Understanding of GIS and GPS.
• Proficiency with software used to process and analyze noise and vibration data.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct noise acoustical and/or vibration studies on various projects
• Assist in data collection from the field and subconsultants, and develop noise reports
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior colleagues on larger projects
• Interact with staff and work with local regulators and subs
• Work on environmental noise, architectural acoustics, building noise, and vibration-related analyses
• Use state-of-the-art instruments to measure noise and vibration, and to process and analyze that data
• Perform other related duties as necessary
