Job summary

Energy Innovation: Policy and Technology LLC is seeking a Junior Node.js Developer to contribute to the Civic Innovation Lab’s technology platform. This is an early-career role designed to build practical experience under a mentor, handling well-scoped work from discussion through implementation.

You will collaborate with colleagues to translate business needs into technical plans, develop and test Node.js services, and assist with integrations with Angular or Ruby on Rails.

Qualifications

• Foundation in software development and eagerness to grow skills.
• About one year of relevant experience (internships, projects, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Clarify requirements with stakeholders and translate feedback into specs, estimates, and tasks.
• Develop, test, document, and maintain Node.js services and features; support Angular/Ruby on Rails integrations.
• Implement secure authentication/authorization flows and follow established standards; seek review when needed.
• Tune database queries and schemas to support reliable performance; participate in code reviews and release prep; keep docs current.
