Job summary

A specialist network provider is seeking a Network Technician to assist with the installation and management of wired and wireless networks at trade shows and live events. The role involves troubleshooting network issues, providing technical support, and ensuring seamless connectivity as part of a dynamic team. Ideal candidates should have a basic understanding of networking and enjoy working in fast-paced, live environments. Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and teardown of wired and wireless networks at trade shows and live events.
  • Support internet connectivity for exhibitors, show management, and production teams.
  • Troubleshoot network, connectivity, and hardware issues during live events.
  • Assist with cabling, access point placement, switches, routers, and temporary infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and escalate issues when required.
  • Provide on-site technical support in a customer-facing environment.
  • Work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends during events.

Skills

Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Ethernet, Wi-Fi)
Interest in networking, IT infrastructure, or telecom environments
Comfortable working on-site and in fast-moving, live environments
Strong communication skills
Customer-service mindset
Ability to lift equipment and assist with cabling and setup
Certifications such as CCNA (or working toward)
