Job summary

V2X, a global mission-support provider, seeks a Junior Systems Administrator to support the NALCOMIS Virtual Environment and Detachment Server teams at NAS Patuxent River. Under close supervision, you’ll perform routine checks, imaging, basic configuration, and end-user support to maintain readiness for virtual and deployed environments.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in IT, cybersecurity, information assurance, or related field.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II baseline within 6–12 months; entry-level certs acceptable at start.
• 4 years of Windows and/or Linux server administration with 2+ years in virtualization.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices, patch management, and backup/restore procedures.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine system status checks, log collection, and health monitoring for VE-hosted systems.
• Assist with ticket intake, documentation, and escalation of VE- and detachment-related issues.
• Support routine patching and updating tasks under supervision.
• Assist with build-up, imaging, and basic configuration of Detachment Server Pool Stock.
• Conduct inventory control for detachment servers and equipment.
• Coordinate with squadrons and VE staff on schedules and hand-offs.
• Provide basic end-user support and escalate complex issues as needed.
