Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through OptumCare, seeks a junior medical physicist to join a premier Clark County radiation oncology team. You will support therapy physics across multiple Las Vegas offices, assisting treatment planning, machine QA, and calibration within a dynamic clinical environment.

The role favors experience with IMRT/VMAT, SRS/SBRT, and HDR; you will review new technology, maintain regulatory compliance, and protect patient confidentiality in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in medical or radiological physics is required.
• Board eligibility by ABR in Therapeutic Physics is required or expected.

Responsibilities

• Involved directly in planning external beam, brachytherapy, SBRT, SGRT, SRS and other radiation therapy functions.
• Maintains the Code of Ethics and adheres to corporate compliance policies.
• Performs calibrations and QA measurements on treatment and planning equipment.
• Gathers and analyzes data for planning and delivery of patient treatments.
• Participates in developing QA guidelines and schedules.
• Maintains equipment and calibration records and QA data.
• Supports radiation protection program and regulatory compliance.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and collaborates with team.
• Supports continuous improvement and adoption of new technology.
