Job summary

Mount Nittany Health is seeking a Medical Physicist to perform a wide range of clinical physics duties in Radiation Oncology, including treatment planning, QA, machine calibrations, and brachytherapy planning. The role requires a Master’s degree and ABMP or ABR certification, with 3–5 years of hospital-based experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a Physical Science or Engineering.
• Three to five years’ experience in a hospital based or free standing Radiation Oncology Center.
• Must have ability to work cooperatively with other personnel in the department and the Medical Center.
• Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics through either the American Board of Medical Physics or the American Board of Radiology.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical physics support for Radiation Oncology.
• Perform computer treatment planning and QA-chart checks.
• Conduct calculation checks and machine calibrations.
• Lead brachytherapy treatment planning and source management.
• Oversee dosimetry as part of the physics team.

POSITION SUMMARY

To perform a wide variety of duties including but not limited to clinical physics support, computer treatment planning, QA-chart and calculation checks, machine calibrations, brachytherapy treatment planning and source management, and dosimetry.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• 1)Master’s Degree in a Physical Science or Engineering

Experience:

• 1)Three to five years’ experience in a hospital based or free standing Radiation Oncology Center.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
